Aberdeen Analyst Nick Castellina Says SYSPRO’s Grape Escape ® Event News Leverages SYSPRO ERP Innovations That Will Deliver “More Value . . . to Customers”

COSTA MESA, Calif. – July 20, 2012 –SYSPRO, a developer of best-of-breed, award-winning enterprise resource planning (ERP) software for on-premise and cloud-based utilization, today announced that a recently posted blog by Nick Castellina, Aberdeen ERP Analyst, cites SYSPRO’s ongoing efforts to help small and mid-sized manufacturers and distributors add value and best their competition. Castellina was reporting on SYSPRO announcements presented by SYSPRO executives and partners at the recent JRocket Marketing Grape Escape ® event in Boston.

Castellina says of SYSPRO’s introduction of a Point of Sale solution, “As more manufacturers are opening outlets to deliver their products, there is a strong need for this technology. In SYSPRO’s case, licensing for this solution is separate from ERP itself. For example, a customer could purchase 12 manufacturing licenses, but 150 for Point of Sale. This will be a major benefit for customers, as last year’s report, “ERP in SME 2011: Setting the Stage for Growth” found that the Best-in-Class are over twice as likely as All Others to be implementing Point of Sale.

Referencing the second major SYSPRO announcement, the SYSPRO App Store, Castellina notes: “This is an eCommerce website where SYSPRO customers can purchase and download SYSPRO applications built by other SYSPRO customers or SYSPRO Partners. This is an exciting new way to purchase applications for perpetual use and is becoming more accepted by customers that have become more used to purchasing consumer applications through ‘app stores.’ Aberdeen’s research on this subject shows some exciting trends . . . The combination of Point of Sale solutions and the new app store is helping SYSPRO to deliver value to its customers along with enabling these customers to deliver value to their customers.”

“‘ERP in Manufacturing 2012: The Evolving ERP Strategy'” found that while only 15% of organizations currently have the ability for ERP users to access or purchase applications that enhance decision-making from an app store, they are actually over twice as likely as All Others to have this capability. As proof of the benefits of these types of solutions, organizations that can purchase apps in this manner have seen a 41% decrease in time to decision over the past year, compared to a 15% decrease for those that cannot purchase apps in this manner. Offering these apps at a lower price point makes it more likely that organizations will be willing to take a bite.
