It was released on April 1st, and it did look suspiciously like a joke, but Amazon’s latest innovation Amazon Dash certainly brings a new dimension to ‘being easy to buy from’ which is a key ingredient of 3D Characteristic #3 Create Delighted And Devoted Customers!
Basically, it’s a button you press that automatically sends an order for a particular product and it then gets delivered to your door! Out of washing powder? Press the Tide button next to your washing machine and ‘hey presto’, your order has been placed. Apparently, they’ve got buttons for over 200 different day to day domestic products. Now, whether you want lots of buttons around your house is another matter, but it does show just what’s possible – convenient, personalised, immediate shopping!
However, they are not the first… I highlighted The VIP Fridge Magnet a couple of years ago, and that always goes down well as an example of ‘being easy to buy from’ in my customer service presentations!
