The most important person for every business is the customer. The customer is God is an oft-heard phrase but most of the businesses always try for new customers and forget the regular ones. The best thing that a business can do is to keep the present customers and help them make more and more purchases. The cost of acquiring new customers is approximately four times more than retaining the present customers. This does not mean you should try to get new customers, you should always try to get new customers but never forget the ones who frequent your businesses regularly. Given below are a few hacks that can help you keep your customers interested and help them make more purchases again and again:

1. Interact with the customer

Once you know that a customer frequents your business you should make it a point to get to know their names and make small talk whenever possible. You should greet them with a smile every time and you should let them know what new products are available etc. You can also try to ask the customer what their thoughts are about a new product, you can ask them what they think would be the price etc. Once you have their answer you can then let them know the price and if it is lesser than they thought you would have surely made a sale. If the customer is relaxed and happy in your place of business they will keep coming back to experience the same again and again.

2. Type of music

The type and genre of music that you play in your business premises should reflect the message and the nature of the business itself. For example, if you have a hotel, you want customers to remain relaxed and to be able to enjoy their meals.

In this case, calm music is ideal. Compare this with playing hard metal. This type of music and the nature of the business simply wouldn’t flow. The customers will get mixed signals and this will do little to entice them to stay and spend more.

If anything, they are more likely to feel uncomfortable and leave the place. You can learn about the type of music to play in customer-centric businesses here.

3. Newsletters

Newsletters are a great way to make sales. You can provide special offers to people who have subscribed for your newsletters and they will oblige by purchasing from you. You can also try marketing tricks such as special and exclusive previews for existing customers. The customers will feel really good and they will surely visit your stores to purchase a few items.

4. Loyalty Programs

To make your customers come back again and again you should use loyalty programs. Loyalty programs are known to inspire customers to be loyal to your business. Loyal members do not need frequent goading to buy, they know the business and the brand and they will be willing to buy if they see a benefit for them.

5. Personalize their experience

Customers love the personalization. Just think if you are able to create your own product and it is personalized to your taste. If your business allows it you should opt to personalize the experience of the customer. Many big shoe brands and car brands allow their users to customize their products so that the buyer gets a personalized product. Customized products will ensure repeat sales so go for this model if you can.

6. Ensure the shortage

When a customer wants something really badly and when they are unable to get it anywhere you should ensure that they get it to build brand loyalty. Similarly, if you are able to create a shortage and when the customer asks you to get it and when you do it for them the customer will be obliged and he or she will become a customer for life.

7. Entertain

Customers love to be entertained. Entertained does not mean song and dance, you or someone from the business should make them feel wanted, the customer should be shown the new products and when a customer is looking for a product the executive should show the available options along with the product the customer is looking for. If possible you should show better options and also let the customer know why it is better. This way you would have created a customer for life and the buyer will be willing to listen to you and repeat sales in the future too.

The above 7 marketing hacks have known to keep customers relaxed and make purchases. Loyalty is built and you get to retain customers. The more you retain the better and you will be saving money on acquiring new customers which we all know is a really hefty investment.
