World’s leading 3G and mobile broadband services provider deploys StreamServe to improve customer communications and reduce costs in customer service and direct mailings

BURLINGTON, Mass., USA – May 11, 2009 – StreamServe, Inc., a leading provider of business communication solutions, today announced that 3 Scandinavia has chosen StreamServe to dynamically create, produce, automate and distribute customer bills. The 3 Group is the world’s leading operator of 3G and mobile broadband services with more than 19 million customers in ten countries. 3 uses StreamServe in Sweden and Denmark to work dynamically with invoices as a communications channel for personalized special offers and marketing messages. In a toughly competitive sector, 3 can now rapidly change messages on invoices based on the current market situation and ongoing campaigns.

“Invoicing is one of our primary points of contact with the customers,” says Thomas Wandahl, customer loyalty director at 3 Scandinavia. “It’s important for us to have control of the document process and to be able to include information about current special offers prior to each round of invoicing. By segmenting the customers and giving them personally adapted messages, customer campaigns are more successful, which is reflected in our revenues. StreamServe gives us the capability to rapidly change the messages on our invoices. At the same time, we can reduce postage costs by distributing mailings among several postal operators.”

The StreamServe solution gives 3’s editors a web interface in which they can create and maintain customer messaging for various customer segments. The documents – about 750,000 four-color invoices each month – are produced, sorted and divided into two files, ready for printing, one for each of the postal operators. Through clearer and more personally adapted invoices, calls to customer service have declined, which consequently provides cost savings.

“We’re happy with our collaboration with 3, which further reinforces our strong position in the telecom sector,” says Dennis Ladd, StreamServe’s president and CEO. “In a challenging environment, it’s increasingly important to retain customers by giving them a personal and consistent customer experience. With our solutions, businesses reduce their costs for customer service, while at the same time, documents such as letters to customers and invoices are used to communicate current information and personalized special offers.”
