Internet memes have become a huge phenomenon. The Oxford American Dictionary named Gif the 2012 word of the year. Memes and gifs are very easy to consume, take little time to create, and gets shared widely across every type of social network. Creating a couple of memes that add humor or perspective to an event you attend – or one that you don’t attend, but will host many of your prospects – can position you as an influencer. You can collect Twitter handles and social profiles for people that engage with your memes, and nurture them with content that reveals a little more about your company and products. Sharing a meme requires a very low level of participation, but with the right nurturing strategy, can generate a large volume of leads as well as brand awareness.

Using Quora to Connect with Prospects
Quora allows anyone to discuss anything from ice cream flavors to machinery buying trends, and more and more businesspeople turn there for answers to questions about their buying decisions. Creating content on Quora is free, and while it may not hold the reputation that a statistical report will gather, it has a different advantage: trust. Quora users vote answers up for their accuracy and for the quality of the content. Encourage your sales team to join Quora, and to ask and answer questions that relate to your area of expertise. You can share Quora content on all your other social networks as well, and prospects can find it organically.
