Why Not to Use a Certain Facebook App

Wow this thing is so bad that Facebook won’t even let me post about it to warn you! I tried pasting a link to an article about it and it refused to let me post it, saying it was flagged as inappropriate! WOW. It’s that bad.

I am talking about BranchOut. The below article says it all:

“Are you unafraid to annoy your Facebook friends until you finally land that new job? There’s now an app for that. According to its description, ‘BranchOut‘ is supposed to provide you with “inside connections at hundreds of companies” by “expanding your career network through all of your friends on Facebook.” And how does it do that? With spam, apparently.”

Read the rest of the article and decide for yourself.

If you have already begun the process of connecting to BranchOut here are the steps to remove it:

  1. Go up to Account and down to Privacy Settings
  2. On the bottom left click on Edit Your Settings next to APPS AND WEBSITES
  3. Click on Edit Settings next to Apps You Use
  4. Find BranchOut and click the X on the far right next to it to remove it

Hope this helps!
