6 Tips from TriggMine

Any online store requires registered users, as email is the main means of communication between the store and its customers. Having your customers’ emails allows you send offers, reminders, greetings on the events, and overall keep in touch with them.

Simple customer appreciation, special offers, a request to leave a review or tell friends about shopping experience – all of these are impossible if you don’t have the customer’s email address.

But customers are becoming more cautious about disclosing their email addresses for the fear of spam. How often have you typed your email on the website, and got buried under a pile of useless and annoying emails afterwards? Next time you face the new signup form, you’ll probably have a second thought on whether you want to put your email address.

That is why it is so important to show your customer the advantages of signing up to your store and to convince him that the information he, or she, receives, is useful.

How do I get my customers’ emails?

Place the registration form on the landing page! Why not tell customers directly what you want them to do?

Offer them a bonus for signing up, indicate the benefits and convince them of the reliability of your store. When you do this, customers will trust you and provide with their e-mail addresses.

Customers should be given a choice, that is, the option to choose what kinds of information they want to receive from you in the emails.

It is also important that the customer has an opportunity to modify subscription settings, or to unsubscribe anytime. This will give customers a sense of freedom and control over the situation, respectively they will become more loyal to your store.

Make your offers and promotions noteworthy

Competitions, promotions and checkout bonuses always attract customers. To take part in such activities, one has to register and enter an email address. If your offer looks interesting and valuable for customers, they will definitely participate and grow into your loyal customers.

The main thing to keep in mind here is making sure that the promotion (or the competition) looks believable and achievable, i.e. the terms are simple and clear to everyone so that each client can imagine himself being a winner and is mentally ready to use the gift even before the start of the campaign.

A visualization is a powerful tool. Let your customers envision the benefits of your proposals, and they won’t hesitate to provide you with a valid email address.

Add useful information

If you want to save both your means and energy, you shouldn’t be trying to attract one and all. Keep your focus on your niche customers. An important motivating factor here is the information. If the customer can tell that your website is useful for him, he will sign up and come back again.

Place information, news, articles, and any other content that is related to your business.
Create blogs, forums, edit the news section.

If your store’s website contains lots of useful information, the customer can accidentally access it via a search engine service and become your regular customer.

Be social

The world of social networks is a separate user universe. Using your store page on Facebook, Twitter, etc., you can easily access your customers’ emails.

When a customer adds you as a friend, and/or subscribes to the updates of your store, he shows you his willingness to cooperate and being interested in your products.

Publish news, create discussions, conduct contests and promotions. Customers love attention, so don’t miss this chance to connect with them, motivate them to trust you. As soon as there is the confidence, the customers won’t hesitate to provide you with their emails in order to be in touch and up to date with your promotions, news and special offers.

Make Your Customer Feel Like a VIP

Feeling important and special is essential for every customer. Give your customers that opportunity, and they will stay with you. One of the best ways to make your customers feel special is by giving them insider information. In other words, you can give your customers the information that is not widely known. For example, you can encourage customers to sign up by offering special conditions of service. Your customers will appreciate that and reward you with their loyalty.

Offer benefits for signing up:

Faster order processing
early product delivery
coupons and discounts
personal shopping advisor
information about new products
pre-orders
bonus cards

Specify a list of what your store can offer, and place the information on your website.
Everyone loves gifts and special conditions, so that will be a strong motivation to sign up. Try creating a “loyalty club”.

Add store history and staff photos

Customers do not hesitate to leave their contact information and make purchases in real stores because we all trust what we see with our own eyes.

Online shopping is a virtual space, so people are very cautious about shopping online, fearing to be deceived. Unless you’re a well-known brand, credibility will be an issue for you. To ensure that the customer trusts you, he should be convinced that the store is just as real and existing as the one where he does his everyday shopping. By displaying testimonials and reviews from customers you can help alleviate any concerns customers may have.

Tell the store’s history, add photos of staff and customer reviews. By doing so, you are adding peace of mind to the shopper’s experience.

Visualization is a strong conviction.

Show your customers that you are real, and they will trust you!
