Enterprise Technology is a booming segment. New technologies, both hardware and software are being released at a breakneck pace, all of them promising to revolutionize the Enterprise sector.
This rapidly growing and changing environment comes with its own share of problems and poses several challenges to the Enterprise Sector, which would require investing Time, money, and possibly a change in strategy. Whether it is the Cloud, an ever-changing and expanding list of customer demands or an intense focus on security and data privacy, Enterprises require undertaking a digital transformation to deal with these challenges in an effective manner.

When it comes to Enterprise Technology, some of the biggest challenges are as follows:
Adopting the Cloud is no longer optional
Enterprise tech was largely dependent on infrastructure-based on-premises, but with the rapid strides made by cloud technology in the last few years, it is not impossible to not embrace the cloud – for your IT Infrastructure as well as your product or service offerings. A major reason that has kept many enterprises from adopting cloud services is that they are completely dependent on Network Bandwidth. Most Enterprises have a fixed budget to spend on Bandwidth, and moving to the cloud would definitely require investment.

UI/UX needs modernization. Constantly
The need for a good User Interface/User Experience is now growing in importance. In the past, companies could get away with having a poor User Experience or User Interface for their Enterprise products. Nowadays Function over Form simply won’t do. It’s absolutely essential for companies to find that exact balance between looks and features and create products that meet Enterprise requirements – both functionally and from a UI perspective.

AI adoption is a tricky business and needs to be dealt with carefully
The technology industry, like many others, can stand to benefit greatly from introducing AI into their operations, but there are a few issues.
Firstly, identifying your AI requirements is a challenge unto itself and requires strategic planning and careful implementation. Then there is the fear that AI will take away people’s livelihood. However, that is only partially true. AI will definitely impact some job profiles but will lead to the creation of several, more strategic profiles.

Data Security – The stakes are higher than ever
2017 and 2018 were extremely critical years, as several high-profile data breaches opened the public’s eye about the challenges of Data Security and why it’s so necessary for them on an individual basis. According to sources, over 60% of Businesses surveyed failed to comply with GDPR regulations. This cannot continue, and companies need to be acting in embracing the latest technologies and methodologies for ensuring Data Security. With more such privacy acts on their way, Enterprises will face a stiff challenge when it comes to ensuring Data Security.

Enterprise Mobility poses unique challenges of its own
With smartphones being an almost indispensable device for most people, it’s no surprise that Enterprise has embraced smartphones with full gusto. While the benefits of this cooperation are tangible and irreplaceable, the addition of Enterprise Mobility has posed new challenges which must be dealt with quickly and effectively by Enterprises so that they may deliver a seamless and fully functional Enterprise Mobility experience.

Primarily, Enterprise Mobility faces the following challenges:

Privacy
Employees using Personal Devices is always a risk for Enterprises, as it poses a bigger threat to professional data. This can be countered firstly by inculcating best practices for security in an organization’s employees and set up a defined access structure with limits to what data an employee can access. You can further enhance security by issuing devices to employees which are to be used strictly for professional purposes.

Data Connectivity
There are no two ways about this- Enterprise mobility is almost completely dependent on Data Connectivity, and that is never a guarantee, even in developed countries. It’s not just limited to reading emails while off-premises. Several Business applications require stable internet access to function properly.
So while it’s impossible to not be dependent on Data connectivity, it’s best to keep an offline copy of critical files as well.

Enterprise Systems Integration
Companies do not run on 3-4 technologies or application. An amalgamation of tools is usually required to provide an all-encompassing solution which would include interconnected ERP, CRM, Databases, etc. Adding Enterprise Mobility to this can and has complicated this already complex framework and Enterprises would be wise to employ Full Stack Development Services to ensure a seamless implementation.

As shown by this blog, Enterprises face several challenges when adopting modern technology solutions – Challenges which they have no option but to overcome to ensure their relevance in today’s digital economy. However, facing these challenges head-on is sure to provide stability, scalability and higher productivity, both in the short term and for the foreseeable future as well.
