Slack is a cloud based collaboration platform that enables synchronous communication on different platforms. Teams of all sizes are using this platform for delivering high value services, supporting enterprise flows, onboarding customers, and resolving issues. However, its mound of benefits can be further increased if a strong integration layer is factored into it. With slack integration, users can pull information from multiple sources, reuse the intelligence and meet customer demands faster.

What is Slack?

The owners of Slack never intended to create a chat based collaboration platform. They initially invented a Flash-based online game called Glitch. The game failed to garner attention and it capsized just after four years. The team decided to re-engineer Slack as Internet Relay Chat, a communication tool to enable collaboration between teams. Soon the entire company started using Slack for internal communication. Slack founders decided to add more capabilities and design it as a full fledged corporate messaging service. By June 2015, Slack became a disruptive communication tools with 1.1 million users. Every week, over 30 million messages were flowing through the solution.

The data flowing through the solution started overwhelming the bare-metal IT servers. There were cost overheads and underpinnings of physical IT infrastructure. To beat these challenges, Slack founders decided to deploy a cloud based server for their solution. The organization turned to Amazon Web Services (AWS). The Adoption of Amazon cloud services helped Slack in gaining multi-billion dollar valuation. The cloud based IT infrastructure simplified IT management, reduced cost, and fostered innovation across products and services.

Benefits of Slack Integration

With elements of AWS, Slack was no more an ordinary chat room. It transformed into a full fledged communication hub that simplifies communication. Slack became compatible with an array of app integrations to ease daily operations.

Now users can integrate Slack with other applications to harness more value out of it. Teams can use it for creating workflows and bringing data from any application. They can set up a single source of truth and use Slack interface for bringing data.

Users can sync it with Google hangout for communicating with specific channel members or private groups for video communication. They can accelerate conversations and bring every team member on critical issues.

Smart companies are using Slack integration for streamlining cross team collaboration. Teams are collaborating on social media for sharing ideas and discussing specific issues. It is a great approach to support Social Media Marketing and responding to customers appropriately.

Another great way of leveraging Slack is integrating it with GitHub. Connecting Slack with GitHub can allow users to derive source codes for different projects. Teams can also post updates to a Slack channel for deriving commits, pull requests, and issues.

Automation for Slack Integrations

Businesses can reach a lot of business benefits by integrating Slack with other applications. Users can execute all team’s communication from one place. But it is not technically feasible to use point-to-point connectivity for integrating it with 10 or 20 applications. Organizations should use an automated B2B integration solution for integrating it with other applications. The solution can enable business users to build intelligent workflows for marshaling technologies in an order and using a combination of features on one platform.
