Amsterdam, November 17, 2006—On Thursday, November 16, the CRM Award was presented for the fifth time. During a festive dinner in Kloostersalons Mariënhof in Amersfoort, the Netherlands, Robeco Direct received the CRM Award 2006, the prize for customer-oriented enterprising, from jury chairman, prof. dr Ed Peelen, and chairman of the CRM Association, drs Wil Wurtz.
It is not the first time Robeco Direct has won the award, this was also the case in 2003. In 2006, the jury voted this organization winner because Robeco Direct again took important steps forward. Customer-oriented enterprising has developed into ˜customer-oriented advising.” This year, four companies competed for the CRM Award. De Friesland Zorgverzekeraar, ING Mid Corporates and Wehkamp went home with the title ‘Challenger’.
All eleven participating companies received an elaborate jury report. This report is not only a detailed evaluation of the entry but the jury also suggests how and where improvements can be made.
The jury consisted of prof. dr Ed Peelen (Nyenrode Business Universiteit, chairman), prof. dr Ton Kuylen (Tilburg University), prof. dr Janny Hoekstra (University of Groningen), drs Annemiek van Moorst (Tote-m business architects), Erna ter Weele (Acxiom), Conny Zijlstra (Capgemini), drs Arnoud Klerkx (Gartner).
Prior to the presentation of the CRM Award, the CRM Association organized a conference with the theme ‘Trends in CRM’. Guest speaker Bob Thompson, known from CRMGuru.com, specially flew in from the United States to discuss international CRM trends. Prof. dr Peter Verhoef, professor Customer Based Marketing at the University of Groningen, discussed the subject from an academic perspective. Drs Wil Wurtz, chairman of the CRM Association, concluded the conference with a presentation of the results of the study that was conducted about the use of CRM in Dutch business.
New this year were the nominees presenting their cases during the conference. “It is impossible to give a complete picture of how CRM is embedded in an organization in half an hour. Nevertheless, you got a good idea of the level the nominees were at. The explanation of the jury chairman made it very clear why Robeco was pronounced winner and the other nominees challenger”, one guest said.
The CRM Award 2007 was presented on Thursday, November 15, 2007.
