According to a Recent Survey Commissioned by CDC Software

Northampton, UK, 21 November 2006—CDC Software, a wholly owned subsidiary of CDC Corporation (NASDAQ: CHINA) and a provider of enterprise software applications, announced that according to a survey of CRM users, commissioned by CDC Software, 63 percent of CRM users in the UK predict that mobile CRM will become the biggest growth area in the CRM space over the next year.

According to those surveyed, mobile CRM leads the field when it comes to predicted growth areas over the next 12 months, taking 63 percent of the vote. This was followed by analytics with 18 percent, internet/e-marketing which received 8 percent and, in last place with 3 percent of the vote, call centre applications.

“The growing needs of mobile workers are outpaced by the ability of IT departments to support them, and this has resulted in significant performance issues and lost business opportunities,” commented Mark Carlile, UK managing director, CDC Software. “Workforce mobility is not a new phenomenon; sales teams, engineers and consultants have traditionally spent the majority of the time on the road closing deals and serving the customer. It is the fact that companies are increasingly focusing on the needs and challenges faced by this group that is shaping the U.K. CRM market.”

“Getting in front of customers is difficult enough so it is important for organisations to optimise valuable customer facing time and get deeper into the sales process in a single visit. Being better prepared with the relevant data can ultimately boost the competitive advantage and can help win more business faster. This survey bolsters that fact that there is an imperative for organisations in the UK, no matter what industry, to leverage new and existing IT investment, to take advantage of the latest developments in mobile technology and to deliver superior customer service.” said Carlile.
