communit_profile_picThis is the latest in a series of weekend posts highlighting a wide variety of applications we think are pretty cool. Most have to do with sales, marketing and productivity. Check out past featured apps here.

It’s a daunting task to prioritize and process the vast amount of information firing at you from multiple angles and channels, 24 hours a day. And if you’re in sales or business development, your greatest secret (or not so secret) fear may be that you’ll miss something important – a specific request, a buying signal, something that could more directly or quickly lead to new business.

Your email inbox is bad enough, but the social Web can be even worse. Sure, you can segment Twitter users into lists and columns in Hootsuite, but that’s a manual process that takes time to maintain.

Enter Commun.it.

It analyzes the thousands of tweets in your stream daily, identifying the most important people & messages for you. It then creates a prioritized inbox for processing. You can log into their site to process important messages, or use their daily morning emails to speed up responses.

Commun.it uses your past history of interactions to help highlight the people you most likely care the most about, and learns from your behavior over time to further hone who it recommends for immediate response.

It may not be the perfect safety-net, but it’s helped me significantly in responding to important messages & buying signals, plus more actively participate in online & social conversations I care about.

Worth checking out.
