Facebook is by far the most utilized social media network out there. With over 2 billion users worldwide, it can surely bring some much needed attention to you and your business.

Creating content tailored for Facebook is one thing, but how do we get users to engage with it and share it amongst their friends?

Take note of some innovative ways you can increase Facebook user engagement and get those extra “likes” and encourage people to share.

Have “Share” Option On Your Blog
If you have a business blog – I don’t see a reason why you wouldn’t – always include the social media buttons next to the content you publish. The “share” and “like” buttons will allow people to spread the word of valuable content they came across with their friends. All this will lead to you getting more exposure on the web.

Upload Media
Don’t solely rely on text based content on your Facebook account. This doesn’t get as much attention as some the media based content.

Create and post some relevant infographics, photos and videos on your Facebook. This typically engages your audience a lot more effectively than purely text based posts.

Cross Promotion
I am sure you’re not relying on only Facebook to communicate with your audience. There may be some other social media profiles you have established your presence on. Well here is where they come into play.

Spread the word across your different channels. Cross promotion is a great way to announce anything and everything you have to offer.

Have Contests
Holding a contest to help persuade your followers to engage with you and bring in fresh meat is really effective. Don’t be afraid to use this tactic to attract some much needed attention to yourself.

This will help spur shares and likes on your Facebook page. Some businesses tend to offer prizes to the people who share the page or the recent post that they come across.

See how you can take advantage of contests to help persuade users to press that “share” button.

Exclusive Deals For Followers
Some businesses like to reward their followers with exclusive discounts and deals that they can use to up their spending power within their store.

If you can allow yourself to offer your die-hard audience a bit of financial relief, I am sure they would be happy to lend you a virtual hand in a form of a “like”.

Find Similar Groups
There are thousands of groups located within the Facebook community. They comprise of a variety of individuals from all over the world who may share similar interests with each other.

See if you can infiltrate some of those groups that are relevant to you and your business. Spread your word of your operations and share the content within the groups. This could create some additional engagement on your social media page.

Tag Others In Your Posts
Any business gatherings you have or if you find yourself in networking events, don’t be afraid to take pictures and share them within your page. Tag your colleagues or new friends you have made at those gatherings.

Tagging people will allow you to show up on pages of their friends and relatives. Not only will new people see your beautiful face, but will also be made aware of your business functions.

Have A Call To Action On Your Website
Call to action is an incredibly easy way to persuade individuals to, well, take action. It’s very simple. When listing your Facebook profile within your website, just make sure you also add a reminder for people to follow you on social media.

Signature in Your Email
When communicating with email, and I am sure you do that a lot, include your Facebook account in the signature at the bottom. Whenever you interact with your customers or new clients, they will be made aware of your Facebook presence.

Have Your Employees Engage With Your Content
Encouraging your employees to share and like the content you put out helps elevate your exposure on Facebook. Similar to tagging people and places in your posts, whenever someone shares or likes your new post, it pops up on their feed. This exposes you to anyone on their friends list.

Utilizing this method, exposure is the name of the game.
