Improve Your In Flight Customer Experience – Choose Who You Sit With!

Are you one of those people that likes to improve their own in-flight customer experience by chatting with other passengers when you’re on a plane? Do you want to make friends but worry that you’re going to bored rigid by someone you have nothing in common with? Or, perhaps like me you’re one of those people who just put their headphones on and don’t talk to anyone!

Well, if you’re one of the former, you may be interested in KLM Airlines new service that allows you to decide who you want to sit next to!

They have launched a new social seating service called Meet & Seat and the whole point is to give passengers a better travelling experience by letting them decide who they want to sit with.

It basically allows passengers to select the profile details they want to share via Facebook or LinkedIn on their website and other passengers can see them and choose to sit next to them! The idea is that you ‘engage’ with like minded people up in the air! It does seem a nice way of helping customers and the great thing is that it’s the ones who choose to do it – no one is forcing them to do it!

My only fear is that people don’t always tell the truth (what do you mean people tell fibs on Facebook and Linked In?!!!) You still might end up with the bore you have nothing in common with, because their idea of ‘sports’ is very different to yours!

However, it does get you thinking – what could you do to help your customers engage with other like minded customers? Sharing problems, ideas and experiences that lots of people like to do – It’s something we do on a lot of our programmes. Participants do interact, become friends and do business with each other – and it’s clearly seen as a benefit to many!

So, to extend that ‘connectyivity’ further, if there’s anyone you would like to connect with, don’t hesitate to let us know via the comments section below or via our Facebook or LinkedIn page and we’ll see what we can do!

In the meantime, if you see someone on a plane, headphones on and staring out of the window, that will be me!
