Covid - 19

Covid-19, does it need any introduction?

Of course not, this deadly virus has engulfed the innocent human lives and has spread its venom to the larger grounds, making it a Pandemic finally.

Apart from the viral information about this disease, something more that has captured the attention of the users, is the treatment option available for this.

Is there a treatment?

There is no treatment available as of now, and vaccine to fight against is in the process.
But there is bigger news rounding across the globe and that suggests Artificial Intelligence, has found the solution to fight this issue.

How AI is helping the healthcare industry?

AI is based on analytics and big data resources. The basic mechanism of AI is helping to track the spread of the virus, monitor the use of resources, and identify people who are more prone to the virus attack.
We all know that elderly and special health conditions patients are most vulnerable to this virus, hence it is much necessary to pick and work on those factors to break the chain of virus.

MHN and Artificial Intelligence

At Medical Home Network (MHN), health care practitioners are putting their best foot forward to give special care to vulnerable patients. And to help them achieve their goal, Artificial Intelligence is playing the biggest role.
With the help of AI technology, they are able to spot down the people who are at high risk of getting affected by Covid-19.

How MHN is winning this battle?

Eventually, it is a very tough task to identify and take care of such patients. The physical presence of MHN is spread across 10 federally qualified health centers in Chicago and three health systems.

Somewhere around 122,000, patients are dependent on them to gain the medical aid. To identify and work upon the high-risk patients, they are taking the help of AI. Surprisingly this technology is not just helping in spotting the vulnerable patients, but also helps in anticipating the patients, who are at the risk of re-hospitalization.

AI beating Corona blues

Since Coronavirus is creating a ruckus for the high-risk patients with respiratory infections or respiratory failure. Here ML comes into the picture and identifies patients, having a high risk of admission for COVID, and have any other respiratory complication.

This helps in filtering the result of 4.4 percent out of 122,000 patients, and give them their required medical health without a fail.

How far it is helpful?

Coronavirus is spreading at a wild-fire speed and every passing minute a new case or death is reported across the world.

USA has reported to have more than 50,000 people infected, and 700 deaths.
In such a chaotic situation reducing the risk of getting an infection is the best way to break the chain of the virus, since there is no treatment available for it.

The AI-enabled system not just filters those patients, but also help healthcare practitioners to inform them in advance, to report to the hospital, in the presence of any symptom.

It goes without saying but AI technology is eventually helping the MHN team to address the healthcare concerns in this demanding time.

Is Hospitalization always required?

This is where most of us are sitting at the wrong table. As we fail to understand that not everyone requires to go to the emergency room on developing symptoms. But around 80% of patients can manage it with self-isolation at home, and only 20% require hospitalization.

Using AI and machine learning, MHN is helping the USA healthcare system to identify patients, who can be severe COvid-19 effected. And this breaks the chain and ensures the long-term health outcomes.

Final word

Around the world, there is a huge number of individuals are at risk for respiratory complications from COVID-19. And this list includes, elderly, uncontrollable diabetics, heart problems, and lung problems. Considering the number of cases increasing, it is very hard to provide the right medical facility to everyone.

So here prevention becomes priority!

With the help of AI, you can evaluate multiple items, and multiple factors, to understand and filter out the vulnerable patients’ list. You can analyze them based on the history of hospitalizations, past medications, surgical history, and many others.

This helps the healthcare practitioners to reach out to the targeted specific groups only, instead of reaching to everyone. This saves time, and help patients in need to get the medical assistance easily.

Technology is really proving to be Men’s true friend in this time of trial, and it is not related just to the medical assistance. But also various other collaboration tools are also helping businesses to run their operations, in the global lockdown, and earn their bread and butter.

With this hope that AI and app technology will keep evolving to provide us better working and living space, I bid adieu to you all for today.
