Mountain View, Calif. – February 17, 2012 – Gridstore™, the leader in scale-out storage solutions, today announced that the company has made the Red Herring Americas Top 100 short-list for its scale-out NAS solution. Red Herring is a global media company uniting the world’s best high technology innovators, venture investors and business decision makers in a variety of forums: a leading innovation magazine, an online daily technology news service, technology newsletters, and major events for technology leaders around the globe. Red Herring provides an insider’s access to the global innovation economy, featuring unparalleled insights on the emerging technologies driving the economy.

The Gridstore scale-out NAS solution uniquely combines virtualization with a grid processing platform to deliver a single pool of storage that simplifies management while increasing performance, scalability and reliability. The Gridstore system is designed for organizations that struggle with the risk, cost and complexity of storage sprawl and who need enterprise class storage without the problems associated with clustered storage approaches. The result is a disruptive storage platform designed from the ground up for the virtual data center that eliminates 20 years of legacy technology and eliminates the virtualization roadblocks of cost, complexity and performance that has limited wider adoption of the virtualized data center.

Finalists have made it through two of three phases. In phase one, judges eliminated companies based on viability of the business model in terms of technology focus and innovation, or lack thereof. The remainder of the companies left went through phase two, which consisted of a peer review where the judges reached out to experts, i.e., the venture capitalist community or analysts from large investment and consulting firms, to discuss the viability of a company’s business model and growth/revenue projections, the competitive landscape, and the big picture in that company’s sector.

“It is an honor to be named a finalist by Red Herring for the Americas Top 100 award,” said Kelly Murphy, CEO Gridstore. “This further validates our position as a game changing, scale-out storage solution that eliminates the complexity, risk and limitations of traditional, cluster-based storage models. With Gridstore, organizations now have an enterprise-class, scale-out NAS that delivers the simplicity and reliability they require – at half the cost of standalone NAS offerings.”

The finalists are invited to present their winning strategies at Red Herring Americas in Los Angeles, May 21-23, 2012. The top winners will be announced at a special awards dinner on May 23.
