Having a website for a business or brand is one vital marketing tool that every company needs. Having somewhere to go to on the internet while looking for a product or service is very common and almost everybody with a mobile phone or smartphone does it. Because of that, marketers are usually designing their website to fit mobiles and laptops or desktops.

Ever since the shift of the consumers from baby boomers to millennials began, the use of technology and internet has increased. According to Quantcast, there was a 110-percent increase in the number of people who used mobile while searching on the internet. Moreover, there is about 20 percent of Google users who use mobile rather than laptop or desktop.

Mobile phones are not only important to common consumers and customers but also to marketers. With it, they can easily connect with a significant number of mobile users that can likely be their customers one day. But there’s one thing that they need to guarantee: they have to make sure that their websites are mobile ready.

Mobile Ready Websites Are Important

There are certain websites that are not mobile friendly. It is hard for a customer to see clearly the letters because it will be really small for mobile phones. Also, it will be difficult, at times, to navigate to a not mobile-friendly website. Such websites have tendency to drive visitors away, therefore leading to high bounce rates. Having a mobile-friendly website, on the other hand, is one way to drive traffic to a company’s website.

One great way to drive traffic to your website is by redirecting those who visit your website on a desktop to mobile. Instead of having them look at your desktop site on their mobile phones, you can give them a link to click on that will directly go to your mobile ready website. Another way is to just automatically make them go to the mobile site of your website instead of giving them a link to click.

Optimizing your search engine is also a great way to drive traffic to your mobile-ready website. It is crucial to already have a website that can be easily accessed through mobile phones. A mobile sitemap would be the very best first step to take. Google will allow your website to be available for researchers and customers.

Mobile First Strategy Works Best With Millennials

According to Pew Research, millennials, or people aged from 18 to 34, are now the highest consumers in the U.S. market. They have surpassed baby boomers or people aged from 51 to 69. Because of this, adjustments to their needs and wants are made by the marketers.

Since they grew up in the age of technology and almost everything is on the internet and very instant, the mobile-first websites are created. Also, getting traffic to these sites is done by different social media sites that almost everyone has. It will not be really hard for the businesses and companies to do everything else after making their websites ready for mobile and smartphones.

Millennial know how to navigate these websites and they also are more self-service people rather than the older generations. Traffic will come easily as long as your website is ready, both for mobile and desktop.
